Hi! I'm Joshua Courtade, the writer, director, and producer of the upcoming independent feature film TWENTY YEARS LATER. This will be my second feature film (my first one -- a drama called BLACK PAPER -- is currently in post-production). The film is still in development, so lots of things are up in the air right now. But I wanted to start this blog to keep people informed regarding the progress of this project.
I've written three drafts of the script so far, and I'm very pleased with where the story is right now. It's a comedy about three guys who were best friends when they were kids, and now they've reunited to dig up a "treasure" they buried when they were eleven. They're in their early thirties now, and they're all dealing with different life crises. As their expedition progresses, they each reconnect with their childhood dreams in a way that allows them to move forward in their adult lives.
My pal Bob Ford has come on board as a co-producer and will also be acting in the film. I'm going to be acting in this one, too. There are other actors I have in mind for roles, but I'll wait to announce them until they're confirmed.
At any rate, I'm very excited about this project. We're planning to go into production in August of this year, but there's lots to do in the meantime -- fundraising, casting, hiring crew, finding locations ... and we'd like to try to bring in a known actor for a cameo in the film! We'll be launching a crowd funding campaign soon, so stay tuned for more information on that.
In the meantime, please spread the word about the movie! Independent films are tough to get off the ground, so the more support, the better.
Thanks for taking a moment to read this. I'll keep you posted!
