Casting and Capes and Crew!  Oh my!

It's been quite a busy couple of weeks for TWENTY YEARS LATER.  I'm into my third week of auditions, and I already have some great options for the three available roles.  Auditions officially end on Saturday, so we'll see what happens during the course of this busy week.  Within the next three weeks or so, we should be close to finalizing the principle cast.

Fundraising is still moving forward.  I'd like to once again thank everybody who has already contributed to the film's Indiegogo campaign.  We're a long way from our goal, but there's still time to donate!  Every little bit helps.  Even if it's just a few bucks, we really appreciate any contribution.  Oh, and if you donate $100 or more, you can get a complimentary cape like the one my nephew Charlie is wearing in the picture to the left.  There's child-size or adult-size.  It's awesome.

Our crew is expanding, as well.  Elizabeth Kauffman has joined the team as our art director, and Jennifer Fuller will be handling wardrobe.  We also have my pal Phil Worfel as our first assistant director.  Phil and I have worked together several times, and he does an outstanding job.  I'm very pleased to have him on the crew, along with all the other fantastic people who will be working on this film.  I've been talking with a number of my students about interning on the set, and I'm eager to see the team keep growing.

I just keep getting more and more excited to make this movie!

TWENTY YEARS LATER is moving forward at a steady clip.  Fundraising is under way, and you can help!  Just check out our Indiegogo page and donate whatever you can.  $1, $5, $10, $25 ... every little bit helps.

We're also a week into the audition process.  A number of performers have already read for several roles, and there are plenty more coming in the next two weeks.  We hope to have the full cast assembled by the middle of June, but of course, that depends on how the auditions go.

Yesterday, Bob and I did an interview on WOOD Radio in Grand Rapids, Michigan to talk about the film and the fundraising.  If you missed it or were unable to hear the broadcast, you can watch a video of the whole thing here.  A big thanks goes out to John Kangas for assembling the video!

And thanks to everyone who has donated or auditioned so far!

Casting is Under Way!

Many of the roles in TWENTY YEARS LATER were written for specific actors.  Some characters were not, but I knew right away who I wanted to approach for them.  Then there are those pesky roles for which I have absolutely no one in mind.  That's when the casting calls go out.

I'm currently sorting through the first wave of applications from actors, and it looks like there are some solid contenders.  Auditions will begin in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Monday, May 13, and last until Saturday, June 1.

This is pretty exciting!
